As an employee, even if you are in a bestest of job, your dream job, the highest paying job – it does cost us in some unquantifiable or quantifiable measures. Well, let’s understand further…….
It is proven that working takes a toll one way or the other – the differentiator is whether we are okay with paying the cost of the toll it takes or NOT. Most of us give our everything to our job – our mind, our commitment, our time, our energy, and even our peace of mind. Traditionally we have been trained to think of our jobs as means to make money. Very rarely does one evaluate the work that we do on the measure of ‘what does it costs us’.
It is widely researched that we spend approximately a third of our lives at work – if not more. And if we are spending this one-third part dealing with frustration and stress, low or no family time, no social life, low motivation, unhappiness, dissatisfaction – what does one do?
The big question is ‘Do we keep the head down, bear with it and keep the job?’ Is there a way out or is there a way to make peace ?
The cost we pay is in terms of :
If you are struggling to get up in the morning, pull yourself out of bed because you dislike the thought of going to work – what do you envisage your future would be like.

Everyone has a different meaning of happiness. For some, it is simple – do what they like, live under a roof and have food on the table. For others, it is having nice worldly things, or for some high pay, high position, recognition, or good work-life balance…
OR you can play a devil’s advocate and question if happiness is over-rated ?
Our answers should be unique to us – We have our own unique journey to live!
Not to forget we have our own responsibilities at home and bills to pay.
